Dr. Tonya Wolfe recently joined Red Deer Polytechnic as the Manager for the College’s Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing-Technology Access Centre (CIM-TAC). The team at CIM-TAC turns our clients’ leading edge ideas into reality by collaborating on innovative manufacturing solutions. Tonya spent the past 2 decades building connections provincially, nationally, and internationally, working to advance technologies and innovation with Alberta’s manufacturers. Tonya is recognized as a leader in the manufacturing innovation space, especially prominent in her work with significant industry and academic partners. Her areas of expertise include metallurgy, materials design, additive manufacturing, welding, wear resistant materials, steelmaking, biomedical engineering and process modeling. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta in the area of additive manufacturing, collaborating across multiple departments in the Faculty of Engineering. She is currently leading the Alberta Additive Manufacturing Network, an industry-led organization aimed to grow additive manufacturing in the province.
